Al-Shilti grew up in a humble family and a society where harmony and interdependence prevailed, as his family used to spend their day between home, farm and trade, which increased his connection to the place and instilled in him a love of meditation. He studied the primary stage in the city of Abha, and moved to Riyadh while he was in the first intermediate grade, where he studied at Hittin School, then completed the second and third intermediate grades in the city of Khobar in the Eastern Province. His studies at Al-Khobar Model Intermediate School were a strong influence that helped refine his artistic talent, as he studied there at the hands of a number of distinguished teachers from the sisterly State of Iraq, such as Professor Shaker Hussein, who taught him a number of important artistic foundations.
